Hi, I’m Sharky.  I got the nickname Shark in high school, when some kid thought my last name sounded like it.  It stuck.  I lived most of my life in Dallas, Texas.  This does not mean cowboys.  This means pretentious little socialite wannabes who flaunt their daddies’ money any chance they get.  It was not fun.

I went to the University of Texas, in Austin.  This city is badass and should be visited at least a dozen times in one’s lifetime.  I graduated with a B.A. in English and Sociology.  I was on the dance team.  Then I kept dancing.  Then I opened a dance studio.  I am still a dancer.

I work in Human Resources, which would be positively perfect if I liked humans.  I’d rather be selling cocaine in a men’s restroom at a bus station. Oh, you think I’m joking?

I moved to Charlotte, North Carolina to be with a very handsome man named Shane.  He is also funny.  We were married in Austin on October 24, 2009.

I like dance, reading, politics, religion, writing, coffee, wine, kickball, chocolate, speaking German, traveling, etc.

I dislike stupid people (read: most people) and am completely and unapologetically pedantic.  I am an Aries so I have a (large) mean streak and terrible temper.  I’m unapologetic for that also.
